Central Uusima Partnership is looking for new innovative ways to improve employment, develop entrepreneurship and activate local co-operation to reduce unemployment. The Partnership+ project is one of its effort to do so. The project was designed in co-operation with local partners and it was launched in September 1st, 2000.
The objective of Partnership+ is to find and develop operational and work opportunities in order to activate those exposed to exclusion from the labour market as well as support self initiative among them. The aim of the project is to inform about problems and actions needed and, thus, create a positive attitude towards employment and prevention of exclusion in Central Uusimaa. At the same time the project strengthens local economy and companies possibilities to employ new people.
The employment and support of the long-term unemployed and those in danger of exclusion from the labour market require individual, need based, tailored and multi skill approaches. The project includes evalution of working abilities and vocational education, improving working abilities and vocational skills. It also familiarzes them with the modern work culture and promotes work participation and motivation.
The starting points for Partnership+ are local needs and resources. The mainly partners are the local municipalities, labour authorities, educational and third sector organisations, companies, the Social Insurance Institution of Finland, congregations and the Employment and Economic Development Centre for Uusima. Partnership+ is funded by the municipalities of Central Uusimaa and the European Social Fund. The ESF funding comes from Objective 3, which is aimed to help, adapt and modernise policies and systems of education, training and employment.
Through the project it is possible to participate in labour market training. For each participant is designed a personal path to follow before and during the training . The participants receive help from municipal co-ordinators, trainers, labour authorities, Social Insurance Institution and the workers of the project. The objective of the path is to improve the quality of life and the posibilities for employment and further studies. When necessary, the path can include rehabilitation or a pension scheme. Partnership+ provides a variety of training posibilities. The courses are usually aimed for the long- term unemployed. Information about starting dates of the courses can be obtained from the labour offices, the local municipalities and Central Uusimaa Partnership.
